A festival and concert favorite in both the U.S. And Canada, Alan Rhody is no stranger to the
Quinte region, and he’s finally coming back to Madoc! Rhody, whose career started in Western Canada, in the 1970s, has recorded with such greats as John Prine, John Hartford, Sam Bush, Guthrie Trapp,
and Maura O’Connell. His shows are a wonderful mix of traditional folk, orginal ballads and highenergy
forays into folk-rock and country-blues. He’s the writer or co-writer of many hits and album tracks by some of folk and country music’s biggest names, including Murray McLauchlan, Ron Hynes, The Good Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Lorrie Morgan, Del McCoury, George Jones, Tanya Tucker, Toby Keith, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Ricky Van Shelton.
“As tall a Texas troubadour as Guy Clark or Joe Ely, the Kentucky-born Rhody employs deceptively simple techniques - acoustic guitar, rack harmonica, his voice - and makes an essential connection!”
“He has earned a level of respect and recognition that places him in the vanguard of
pioneers of the contemporary roots music movement.” - Toronto Star
“A singer-songwriter of uncommon clarity and intelligence.” - The Tennessean
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this accomplished artist all the way from Nashville, Tennessee!
